Scrapbooking… with Paper!

Hold on to your pants.  I can barely believe it myself.  I pulled out the paper last night and scrapbooked a layout.  I haven't done that in forever.  FOREVER.

I'm having fun playing with lots of new paper and products.  This layout uses a little bit of new and a retiring die cut.  I used the new Fancy Fan Folder on this layout and the COOL tidbit on this embossing folder is that it's LONGER.  6 3/8" long to be exact.  We have three dies in the catalog that are like this. Love this for scrapbookers.

I used the Simple Letters Die Cut for my Title, "Action".  This picture was from the final night at Disney.  Not only did we enjoy great entertainment, amazing dinner but the chance to act like real ACTORS.  SO cool.

At the top left of the layout I cut a few banners and punched a few from cardstock and the World Spectacular DSP.  I used my sewing machine at the top of the layout to sew across the banners.  I like how that turned out.  Lastly, I used the new stamp set called Memorable Moments for the numbers at the top.  I used Island Indigo, Cherry Cobbler, Calypso Coral and Daffodil Delight for the ink colors.  I just used scissors to cut around the numbers and then used a little snail to adhere them.  Simple.  The bottom Left of the photo I used our new Glass buttons. These are so vintage and beautiful to me.  I was lucky to get these on our trip to Disney.

Lastly, I added a few Rhinestones and a Brad on my title to give it a little more POP.

I can't tell you how great it feels to scrapbook. Whether you are a traditional or digital scrapbooker as long as you are doing it I think it's wonderful.  It's relaxing and you are preserving your family's memories.

Today is also a big day in the Digital World.  Time for new Downloads.  Sure does make a Tuesday spectacular.  :)   You can check out the new downloads HERE. They are FANTASTIC. I love the Season by Season kit!!!

Have a GREAT day!!

My Digital Studio Video

I'm excited to share my first My Digital Studio video with you today.  Yippie!!  When I posted my Disney Album cover onto  the My Digital Studio website the other day someone asked how did I get a "Disney Kit" to work with.  This made me smile because we do not have one but our creativity can go a long way.  A dear demonstrator friend of mine, Heather is one talented cookie when it comes to My Digital Studio. She has taught me COUNTLESS things with this program and one of them was creating a Mickey Mouse.  When I further investigated other downloads and tools I had in my program I knew that creating a "Disney" album was going to be fun.  The beauty of art is using your imagination and creating to your personal liking.  I love using My Digital Studio because the sky is the limit with it.  There are so many great things you can do with it.

Here is my Album Cover again for my Disney Album I am working on:

Birthday Layout with My Digital Studio

Kimberly Van Diepen Stampin' Up! Demonstrator

This layout was double the fun.  I was able to use the new Fan Fair Digital Download that's coming in the new catalog as well as complete a fun new layout of Brandon and his birthday.

First, he had a great day and we will follow it up this weekend with more fun with his friends.  It's a quiet birthday-nothing over the top but it's what he wanted and we are happy.

This download is AMAZING.  Every single element found on the CD from the DSP, embellishments, stamps… it's ALL fantastic.  The DSP might be my all time favorite.  WHOA.

I hope you like this little sneak peek.  I plan to make a few more layouts with this great download.

XOXOXO

Edited to add the downloads I used:

Font-Clipper Script
Engraved Greetings-Happy Birthday
Designer Kits-Fan Fair- Pennant 3
Timeless Type Junior Numbers Punch

Catalog Case Take 2

We all get so excited when we see the new products in the catalog but one of things that I get really excited about is the beautiful artwork in the catalog.  I love thumbing through it to find projects that I want to re-create.  I was having a hard time coming up with a card to make Brandon for his birthday.  I do not have many "boy" sets on hand so I was really racking my brain.  I went to the new catalog and found a card that I thought would be boyish enough and use a few new products too- SCORE.

I used the Forever Young stamp set.  Honestly, this stamp set hasn't seen a lot of ink and after making this card I'm sad it's been neglected.  For this card I used a few new In Colors such as Midnight Muse and Summer Starfruit.  I love that the First Edition DSP is sticking around.  I could kiss the person that made that decision.  I love that paper and use it on just about everything. :)   The little button at the top of the frame is from our New Naturals Designer Buttons.  Love that they are neutral and you can use them on anything.  Even a manly card.  The stitched ribbon is also a new product.  These will come in our new beautiful In Colors.  They won't disappoint you.  I stamped the bottom greeting using my Fabulous Phrases stamp set and the only reason I did it like that at the bottom with another piece of cardstock is because I screwed up.  Yes, totally messed it up but I recovered it.  SCORE!

The one thing you are going to be excited about with our new catalog coming soon… the change in our ink pads.  They are incredible.  I can't wait to show you the MANY reasons I love them.  If you have ever tried an Ancient Page Ink Pad—–> That's what our new pads remind me of.  Just pure incredible.

Most importantly Brandon liked his card. Alexis wanted to know how I got his picture in the frame.   LOL.  Silly kids. I want to thank you for taking the time to wish Brandon a happy birthday.  He loved it and he really had a GREAT day.

You are amazing readers and I appreciate you SO SO SO SO much.  Thank you.

XOXOXOXO

Styled Just Right

Kimberly Van Diepen Stampin' Up!

Kimberly Van Diepen

This month my club members made this simple Matchbook Cover.  This idea came pretty easy this month from my Magazine I get as a Demonstrator once a month- Stampin' Success.  I love my magazine even more these days because they changed it up and they show beautiful projects and directions to make them.  The samples they had were beautiful.  I wanted to showcase one of my favorite sets retiring and I thought the Styled Beautiful stamp set was perfect.  This little gem would brighten any person's day as it has Sticky Notes inside.

I used the Wisteria Textured Cardstock for the base of the project and then worked in Daffodil Delight.  I'm not much for the color purple but Wisteria is a such a soft beautiful purple that I love.  The Daffodil has become a color that I use quite frequently as well. Again, it's a soft yellow.  It doesn't blind you. :)   I used the Flirtatious Designer Series Paper on this project.  This paper is being discontinued.  You can find it HERE.  Here is a look of all the papers:

Kimberly Van Diepen Stampin' Up!

This paper is bright and cheerful and comes with Doilies that you can cut out and add to any project.  SUPER fun.

I did tweak this project a little on the measurements to get more bang for my buck.  The directions said to cut a piece of 12 x 12 cardstock at 11 1/2  x 6 1/4.  Instead, I cut my cardstock to 11 1/2 x 6.  This way I was able to get 2 Matchbooks from one piece of my textured cardstock.  The only change this made was my matchbook was a little shorter.  No biggie. Once you have your paper trimmed, score along the long edge at 4 1/4, 4 1/2 and 9 1/2.  Fold on all your scores and put your matchbook together.  It's super simple and fun.

You can also get this fantastic magazine each month straight to your door when you become a demonstrator.  Don't forget starting May 1st you can join for $99 and customize your ENTIRE kit YOUR WAY!!  Love, Love, Love this.  I would love to have you on my team.  :)

I hope you have a great day.
