Pinwheels

While I was on the Disney trip I was talking with a fellow demonstrator about different projects she was making and I was so intrigued with one of them.  She told me she was making Summer Wreaths by making Pinwheels.  I thought this sounded like a really fun idea so I set out to make my own.  I thought this would be a pretty big project, but in the end it didn't take any time at all.  Once you do all the prep work of cutting  your paper it's quite easy. Take a peek:

I had an entire pack of the Big Top Birthday DSP #122348.  I started by making different sizes of pinwheels.  6 x 6, 4.5 x 4.5 and then the smallest one I made was 4 x 4.  Of course any size you make is going to work fine, these are sizes I decided to try myself.  Once I cut my paper to the desired size I used this pattern below to make the pinwheel patterns.  Keep in mind I used "almost" the entire pack of DSP.  It's retiring, I wanted to make GOOD use of it. ;)

I bought a Styrofoam Wreath at my local craft shop and started making the pinwheels on the wreath by using stick pins. This way I figured the pinwheels were not going anywhere.  I continued to do this until my wreath was complete.  Here is my completed project:

Just as simple as that.  I encourage you to make one.  They are simple and it's one way to use your supplies and enjoy a nice summer wreath in your home.

You can still purchase these retired items in my Online Store.  I hope you can visit it today.

Have a FANTASTIC day!

Use Your Supplies

Ahh… You've seen this title before.  Since I've been cleaning out my stamp room getting ready for the big sale coming up, I have found tons of kits from past conventions that I may have started but I was too chatty to finish.  I am the WORST to stamp with in public.  Not because I want to hog all the supplies but I will run my mouth the entire time and you will get nothing done along with myself.  I can't help that God gave me the gift of GAB.  <sigh>

Anyhoo, I wanted to make our school nurse a nice gift for Nurses Week and used my old supplies to make something with new supplies.  Best of both worlds.

I used our awesome Whisper White Note Cards.

I started with a piece of Melon Mambo cardstock and stamped the greeting from Forever with You stamp set.  This is a new set that's gorgeous.  I die cut it using our Apothecary Framelits.  I then mounted it onto a Whisper White 21/2" Circle punch and added a little of that fun Polka dot ribbon.

To make the pocket simple seal your envelope and cut off one end so the entire length is 4 1/8".  I cut a half moon circle using my 2 1/2" Circle punch.  Now my card slips in nicely.  The front of the card is all flat stamping except I added a few tiny pearls to add a little more texture to the card.

Hope you are having a fantastic day and don't forget you can shop in your PJ's anytime… Click HERE.

Have a GREAT weekend.  See you Monday!

XOXOXO

Delicate Box

Good morning my friends.  Today I want to share a box die with you that's been one of my favorites for a very long time.  I love the Box #2 Die Cut and you can use it for so many ideas.  Today I decorated it a little different and used it to house a few small cards.

I used all kinds of new products on this little guy.  I used the Papaya Collage stamp set with Pool Party ink.  You can see I added a small piece of Vellum across the front of the box too.  I also used our new Apothecary Accents Framelits with a Glass button.  Super pretty and delicate looking.

On the inside there are three cards.  All 3 1/2 x 4 1/4 in size.

Each card is just slightly different than the other.  I used Vellum on all three cards and then embossed the vellum on each using the Fancy Fan Folder.  I used the stamp set World Treasures for the greeting on each.  There is a little sewing on two of the cards but it's not over the top.  Just a wee bit. :)   I love these colors together… Soft Suede, Pool Party, Crumb Cake and a tad of Whisper White.

What are you creating today?  Remember, you can check out my online store at any time by clicking HERE. Make sure to check out my Online Rewards Zone too!

Have a GREAT day!!

The Sky is the Limit

Good things are happening in my stamp room lately.  I'm not sure if I had told you about this earlier but I'm on a mission to complete a challenge.  A little goal setting if you will with a lovely Stampin' Up! staff member.  I believe 100% in setting goals and I love to set goals and adjust them as I see fit.  Lately I've had to be realistic with myself and come up with a better plan on how I'm running my business with two beautiful but ACTIVE kids.  I'm on the go a lot… however I know that this doesn't mean I can't do my business.  In fact, I think that's the beauty of a good challenge. Just seeing HOW I WILL make it happen.  I'm keeping my challenge a secret for now… but you will understand it soon.  I'm learning that the Sky is the Limit and just as I've always said to my kids and my downline, "You can do anything that you set your mind too!"

Speaking of the Sky is the Limit… this card is perfect for today.

I love Hot Air Balloons and we are always lucky when we go home to Iowa to see a few in the air as his family lives near the Balloon Field.  The last time we were there Russ went up in one and he loved it.  I had fun chasing it.

This card uses one of our new Designer Series Papers called World Spectacular.  LOVE, love this paper.  Every single sheet.  I pulled out my Up, Up & Away stamp set and put it to good use tonight.

I started with Island Indigo cardstock for the base and added a piece of Whisper White CS to mat the DSP onto it.  The balloon is stamped onto Crumb Cake cardstock.  I punched that tiny little Decorative punch using my Decorative Label punch.  Have you seen this done before? Maybe I should do a little tutorial on it? I doubled up the Natural buttons and tied a little Linen thread into them.  I also placed a Daffodil Delight brad on the card to hold my greeting.  Confession… I have barely used my colored brads.  I love how this brad looked on the card.  I will start using more of these.  It's super cute.

Hope you are having a GREAT week.

XOXOXOXO
