Let’s Celebrate-Artisan Blog Hop
Its time for an Artisan blog hop and I say let’s celebrate!
Shoot, I think we should celebrate every single day.
It creates instant happiness when we celebrate so why do we only keep it to holidays?
Procrastination… My Middle Name
Let me get this off my chest first…
I’m sure many do not like to admit their faults but I’m not shy and I’m pretty known for airing my dirty laundry for all to read about.
Heavens know’s why… but I do.
I was getting my supplies ready last night so I could stamp and I wasn’t in the mood. Â This was problem #1. Â I was tired, cranky and evidently didn’t have enough coffee on board.
As usual I had procrastinated the project so there was no time for a mood… It was time to get REAL.
The products were all laid out on my desk, and now panic sets in.
This was problem #2- I had NOTHING creative coming out of my brain.
Normally I’m great under pressure. Â Not last night, my procrastination was about to get the best of me.
That overwhelming feeling of “I’m about to ugly cry” was about to begin. Â I knew the next day I would not have time to create, its tonight or bust.
Lesson from Kimberly
WHY do I procrastinate? WHY?
I’m not sure I’ll ever understand why I do it, but the one thing I’ve learned from my own procrastination is to have grace with my kids when they procrastinate.
They get it honestly.
Of course I try to teach them to rise up and not procrastinate, but I’m starting to wonder if its genetic.
So… last night I said…
HELLO COFFEE!! … and so the creative craziness began!
Here’s to Cheers
I stamped the background of this card at least 3 times using the Paisley & Posies Stamp set, all of which landed in the trash.
Every color combo I was working with was U. G. L. Y.
Finally something came together.
Then I kinda sorta fell in love.
This is when I remember why working under pressure is my thing and I forget about all of the anxiety I had an hour ago.
The love affair with the card happened when I stamped those beautiful ornate circles.  I was  pretending they were snowflakes and it was working.
After placing a piece of Vellum cardstock over the stamped images it made everything soft and pretty.
It was MAGIC.
Hands down I think Vellum is one of my favorites to add to a project.
Stampin’ Up! Vellum Cardstock has a thick texture and heavy weight. Â It’s AMAZING.
I loved how the greeting from the Here’s to Cheers stamp set looked against the Stitched Framelits with a pop of color (Watermelon Wonder) in between.
My color combination was totally random but I loved how this turned out.
Cheers to a Sparkling Season
Look at the beautiful images in this stamp set- Here’s to Cheers! This set also comes in a bundle with GORGEOUS framelits. Make sure to check them out HERE.
The greeting on this card can be used for so many great projects. Â You could make this a tag and hang on a bottle of sparkling champagne, or use it on a card like I created here.
Tips & Tricks
- I used the Decorative Label punch to create the long Whisper White Tag.
- The Stitched Shapes Framelits created a perfect frame for the greeting. Â I also used the Layering Squares Framelits to create frames.
- I used the Snow Flurry Punch to punch out the silver Glimmer Paper to create a few snowflakes around the greeting.

This color combination screams formal party!
Celebrate All the Time!
While last night I didn’t feel like celebrating  because I was a big procrastinator loser… I DID feel like celebrating once I had finished creating.
I would like to tell you I’ve learned my lesson. Â The truth is… that isn’t the truth.
It’s not my first rodeo with procrastinating… but each time it happens I learn to get a little better organized so it doesn’t feel so overwhelming the next time.
Now let’s celebrate the other Artisans. Â They have beautiful projects to share. Â First up is my friend Krista. Â Her work has amazed me every single time and I’m always blown away with her beautiful color combinations.
Just click the button below to start the hop and ENJOY!!
Remember, we love to hear from YOU. Â Leave a comment and let us know what you think. Â Or… tell me one of your fun procrastinating stories. Â Misery always loves company. Â <wink>

Oh Kimberly, if you hadn’t told us that you procrastinated, I would have never known…your cards are as amazing as always. 🙂 Hugs!
I am a procrastinator, too. Never been able to resolve that…I was panicking with you, reading and looking at your first project. I mean, where is the doily? I was distraught, thinking, no doily on her card? Then, I was calmed by your second card, and I knew all was well with Kimberly…LOL Beautiful projects, as always.
What Jennifer Hill said. There was no trio of embellishments, no doily… I thought maybe you lost your embellishment stash or hit your head or something, but in the end, you made beauty–as always.
Oh my word… thank you for making me smile. XOXOXO
LOL. Girl… you made me seriously laugh out loud. XOXO

Gorgeous cards Kimberly! Great idea with the Decorative Label punch too!
Oh my word! Both gorgeous, but that second card made my jaw drop and say WOW!!! Amazing job Kimberly! And THANK YOU for being real. That encourages me almost as much as your amazing cards do! <3
