Happy Sunday from Florida!
Happy Sunday to you. I thought I would give you a little update on our family vacation in sunny Florida. I wish I could say it's been full of SUNNY but instead the rain has been a factor almost every day. A little rain is not going to put a damper on our fun. We've had a blast so far and keeping busy every day as we spend time with our family.
We decided to take off to the beach on Thursday. Just as we were headed to the car we heard a clap of thunder. I thought the kids were going to cry but we decided to give it a chance and pray that the storm was moving away from the coast. Well, that didn't happen. We arrived at the beach only to sit under a pavilion for a good 40 minutes waiting for the storm to pass. Once it did pass it was BEAUTIFUL skies. I'm glad we waited.
Once the storm finally passed the kids were so excited to play.
One of the great things about taking kids to the beach is they are exhausted afterwards… and so was I.
The next big news was the purchase of BB guns for the kids. They have begged for these for quite awhile. Russ decided to take them shopping and the grin has not left their faces. I didn't think Alexis would want to shoot but man was I wrong. She loves it.
The kids are just shooting in the back yard at my parents and they have their targets all made. They were given strict orders not to shoot the squirrels. So, if they are not in the pool this is typically what they are doing now. They are occupied and I'm happy that an electronic device is not consuming them.
There is a little crafty stuff going on in the house. My mom decided to make the girls tu-tu's. Only problem was my dad decided to test it out.
He is CRAZY!!
You may remember last year when my family and I went to a place called the Farmers Opry. They recognized Russ being in Iraq and sang "Proud to be an American" with me and the kids on stage. I wanted to take Russ to this awesome place so we headed there last night. The fun part was the band remembered our family from last year and it was great for them to meet Russ. I love this place and we heard the sad news they are closing down in October. They have bands every Friday and Saturday and cook good ole Southern food before each of the shows. If you like OLD country music and good southern food, this is a fantastic place to visit. You can check out the website HERE. We've had great memories there.
So far, this is just a little taste of our vacation. We've enjoyed spending great time with family and many laughs. I'm looking forward to this week of soaking in more sun and hearing my kids giggle.
Have a FANTASTIC Sunday!
XOXOXO
