My Digital Studio Blog Hop!

I'm so excited. I was asked to participate in the MDS Blog Hop this week! Yahooooo! Not only am I going to share a layout with you but you will be able to cruise along and visit other great digital designers using My Digital Studio.
Each week they have a theme.  I love this idea because it gives you a starting point. Then you can build from that starting point.  Imagine my excitement when they told me the theme this week was to case a layout or project from the catalog. WHOA!
The layout I chose to CASE is on page 188.  I had a picture in mind already and new this layout would work well with my picture.  Tell me what you think.

I started this layout with Textured Cardstock and then started building the layout like I could see in the catalog.  You'll notice that not every element is exactly like the picture in the catalog, however the basic design is the same.  I used all kinds of downloads on this layout. I tried to use as many elements as I could to copy the layout. I loved being able to let my mind rest -okay, that never really happnens.  You know what I mean.  :)

I would love to see you do the same idea.  Find a layout you love and copy it using My Digital Studio.
I have a long list of downloads that I used.  I've also been hunting new fonts.  I find that I use same ones all the time.  There are tons of FREE fonts that you can find on the internet. I've listed the fonts I've used in my supplies as well.

Get Your Sun Shades!

You won't need them in Virginia today but I'm getting ready to brighten my stamp room a little with this card.  I pulled out the bright colors and accessories for today's card!

I pulled out my pretty Mixed Bunch stamp set from the Occasions Mini and felt the need to play with BRIGHT colors. For this card I embossed directly onto the First Edition DSP using three fun Embossing Powders- Tempting Turquoise, Tangerine Tango, and Wild Wasabi.  Usually I'm not quick to grab the bright colors. Maybe because Spring is here it put me in the mood but I really loved the way these flowers popped off the First Edition DSP.  Another thing I noticed is the embossing powders are not as bright and more muted.  I personally LOVE this.  Below is the list of products I used on this card.

Products Used:

Stamps: Mixed Bunch – Clear-Mount Stamp 125537, Fabulous Phrases 117002

Ink: VersaMark

Cardstock: Wild Wasabi, Tangerine Tango, Tempting Turquoise

Accessories: First Edition Specialty Designer Series Paper 121878, Tangerine Tango Stampin' Emboss Powder 123106, Tempting Turquoise Stampin' Emboss Powder 122950, Wild Wasabi Stampin' Emboss Powder 123224, 5/8 Inch Crochet Trim Victoria 118481, Pear Pizzazz 3/8" Pleated Satin Ribbon 125568, Printed 2011 In Color Designer Brads 122940, 3/4 Inch Circle Punch 119873, Blossom Punch 125603, Curly Label Punch 119851, Sale-a-Bration ribbon, Pearls

Next I have a new Digital Layout.  Today's layout uses a few new downloads released yesterday.

I started this layout with a Whisper White Textured 12 x 12 cardstock and then placed a Vintage Overlay on top of it.  I like the color it makes my background.  I also used lots of Square punches but turned them 180 degrees so I could have a diamond shape.  I then filled all of them with the Modern Prints DSP and bordered them with the Wild About You Black border stamp brush.  You'll notice in the top right of the layout is the new ripple ribbon we have.  WHOA! That got me super excited. Below you will find all the downloads I used for this layout.  You can find these in my Digital Online Store.  I'm here to help you if you are ready to start a digital album. You won't be disappointed.

Digital Downloads Used:

Wild About You Border Stamp Brush
Downtown Grunge-Frames
Get it Done-Embellishment
Taffeta Trimmings-ripple pear pizzazz

Daffodil Delight Brads
Dotted Scallop Punch
1.25 Square Punch

Full Circle

Today I have lots of circles to show you and both projects make me really smile.  Let's get right to it!

I've been helping a few friends locally with baby invitations.  During the process it made me realize that I do NOT have a lot of baby crafting supplies on hand.  I guess you could say I've outgrown that department in the crafting section.  However, I was able to pull a few supplies and make some fun cards. I was going through some of my paper that has been neglected and found the pretty Mocha Morning Specialty DSP.  I haven't played with this gorgeous paper enough.  Check out this great paper!

Nice paper! I found the Polka Dots and wanted to make a baby card with it.  I also pulled out my Button Button stamp set.  Check out today's card:

Now it's time for a little bit of Digital Inspiration! Tuesday's are magical days for me.  Tuesdays= New Digital Releases from Stampin' Up! Feels like Christmas!

You can download the new Digital Downloads HERE. They are fantastic.

Today I have a layout using more Circles and NEW downloads!

Kimberly Van Diepen

Today's layout was inspired by another layout seen on Pinterest.  You can see the layout HERE. I loved all the circles on this layout.  What I love more is being able to find a layout I like and creating it using My Digital Studio software.  Sometimes it's hard to start with a blank canvas and know which way to go with it.  It's much easier to start from scratch when you have a little inspiration standing in front of you.

This photo of Brandon will go down as one of my favorites. It was taken this past fall at the Vietnam Memorial in Washington DC.  It was the first time any of us had seen it and it was the one place my Dad wanted to go while they were visiting.   We were looking for a friend of my Dads.  He had died right in front of my dad when he was in Vietnam.  They were best buddies.  I can't describe how emotional this visit was for my family.  Seeing my dads face when he looked at the wall was incredible. Almost disbelief that he was actually standing in front of it.  My kids were fascinated with the history and Brandon kept saying, "Look at all of these names!"  Interestingly enough the picture I took of Brandon is one of my favorites because you can see the reflection of names on his white shirt.

Below you will see a list of downloads I used for this layout.  One of my favorite downloads from this week is this one:

We are hoping to watch the principle race on a tricycle.  Hope she doesn't wear the pretty heels I always see her in.  Of course this could make the whole thing even more funny. Have a fabulous day and make something pretty using Circles.  Share your creations with me.  I would love to see them.

Shabby Kites

Happy almost Spring day!  Hopefully you are enjoying your official last day of Old Man Winter.  I say "See Ya Later!"  I'm ready for warm weather every day.  Seeing all this sunshine lately reminds me of Colorado. They have beautiful sunshine ALL the time.

Today I have a few shares. My card today is all about Shabby Kites.  The other day I posted a card using the Beau Chateau Designer Series Paper.  I feel like we have been reunited and I can't let go of it.  Therefore I made another card using it.  It's so SHABBY!  I wanted to use the set Send Me Soaring because it hasn't been inked enough and I love kites.  I suck at flying a kite, but I sure love how peaceful they are.  Just floating in the air without a care in the world.  Unless of course I'm flying it and then the peacefulness gets wrapped in a tree.  Yep, that is how I fly a kite.

Back to business. <Wait a MINUTE!> There is the CUTEST little chipmunk outside my window.  So chubby and cute!

Seriously, back to business.  Nothing like a shiney furry object for me to lose focus!

Here is the card for today.

I love the clouds in this stamp set because they stamp very clean.  Does that even make sense? Anyhoo, I figured I might as well make the kites really pretty and I added a few Pearls.  Ha.  Nothing like a glitzy Kite.  Maybe if I had one of these in real life it would stay soaring and not end up in a tree??

Here is a list of supplies I used on this card:

Stamps: Send Me Soaring # 125442

Ink: Basic Black, Soft Suede (sponging), Marina Mist

Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Confetti, Marina Mist

Accessories: Dotted Scallop Edge Border punch, Linen Thread, Beau Chateau DSP, Soft Subtles Buttons, 1" Square punch, Postage punch, Tulip Embossing Folder, Pearls

I found a sketch I really wanted to use for a Digital Layout on Pinterest last night and came up with this layout.  I'll include the Sketch too.  I would love to see what YOU come up with.  Leave a comment with your link so I can take a peek.

Here is the Sketch:

Sunday Inspiration

Happy Sunday!

I have a quick post with a layout I worked on last night. Thought I would share a little Sunday Inspiration.

Kimberly Van Diepen

I spent most of my day with my princess yesterday. It was all about us.  Nails, toes and just hanging out.  We had a blast.  The guys had their day too.  They were more into trains, antiques and acting like American Pickers.

The guys surprised me with this beauty:
